When a major surgery or trauma leaves you seriously ill or injured, the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals on our critical care units provide the specialized care you need.
Critical Care Services
We use the most advanced technology and equipment to help ensure the best outcome possible for you or your loved one. Our critical care staff, many of whom are certified in trauma care, are specially trained to provide intensive care.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – The ICU treats people with serious trauma, neurological and surgical conditions. Service include:
- Clot-busting drugs for strokes
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Dialysis
- Hypothermia therapy
- Remote monitoring
Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) – Our CICU is specially equipped to care for people who have experienced a heart attack. Services include:
- Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT)
- Intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) therapy
- Hypothermia therapy
- Remote monitoring
The staff also works closely with the Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) to diagnose and treat serious heart conditions.
Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) – This unit cares primarily for open heart surgery patients but also serves patients from other cardiac areas such as Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab).
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – We have a Level II neonatal intensive care unit, which provides the highest level of care for critically ill and premature babies.
Rapid Response, or STAT, Team – Our STAT (Swift Triage and Treatment) team members are trained to respond quickly in an emergency health situation. If you are concerned about a loved one’s medical status, or if you are concerned about your own health, ask a nurse to call the STAT team for you.
Critical Care Visiting Hours
When a loved one is hospitalized, friends and family members can ease anxiety, offer comfort and aid in their recovery. We encourage visitors, but the safety and health of your loved one are our top priorities We may limit visitors in certain situations, such as your loved one’s health, infectious diseases or legal restrictions.
Our critical care units have established visiting hours. Contact the appropriate unit for details.
