Total Joint Replacement

North Kansas City Hospital has earned Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement certification from The Joint Commission. Only three other hospitals in Missouri and one in Kansas hold this prestigious certification, which is offered in collaboration with the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Joint Replacement Registry. This recognition means our comprehensive program has met strict requirements and high standards for patient safety and quality care.

We offer a full continuum of therapy care after joint replacement surgery through Home Health and outpatient therapy.

Our rehab team is integral to our accredited Total Joint Program. You will likely be getting out of bed and walking the same day as surgery with the help of our therapists. This allows many patients to return home the day of surgery or the next day. 

Once home, rehab continues in our outpatient clinics where we focus on your joint’s range of motion and strength to restore your mobility so you can safely get back to your daily activities.

Total Joint Class

Before your joint replacement, you will attend an educational Total Joint Class to prepare you and a partner for your recovery and rehabilitation.
