Symptoms of Heart & Vascular Conditions
Talk to your doctor about the cardiovascular tests at NKCH if you experience:
- Chest pain or discomfort
- Fainting
- Fatigue
- Fluttering in the chest or neck
- Lightheadedness or dizziness
- Shortness of breath
Get diagnosis and treatment for heart conditions, such as:
- Arrhythmias (abnormal heartbeat), including atrial fibrillation — When your heart pumps blood poorly because it beats too fast or irregularly
- Cardiac toxicity — When cancer treatments weaken or damage your heart, blood vessels and lungs
- Coronary artery disease (CAD) — When plaque builds ups in the wall of the arteries (coronary arteries) that supply blood to your heart
- Heart attack — When blood flow and oxygen are blocked from getting to the heart
- Heart failure — When your heart muscles don’t pump as well as they should, causing a buildup of blood in your lungs and legs
- Heart valve disease — When one or more of your four heart valves doesn’t work correctly, thus disrupting blood flow
- Metabolic syndrome — A group of conditions — such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar and excess fat around the waist — that increase the risk of stroke, heart disease and diabetes
- Premature ventricular contraction (PVC) — Irregular heart rhythms due to the lower chambers beating too fast to pump blood efficiently, so the body doesn’t receive sufficient oxygenated blood
- Ventricular tachycardia (V-tach) — Occurs when a patient has multiple PVC episodes in a short time
Find specialty care for a range of conditions affecting your arteries, veins and capillaries, including:
