What is Cancer Rehabilitation?
Many different specialists work together to create a plan that works for you. Our nationally certified cancer rehabilitation experts address the complex effects of cancer and cancer treatments. Our teams include physical and occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, cardiologists who specialize in cancer-related heart damage, dieticians, nutrition counselors and other specialists.
You can count on compassionate, seamless care tailored to your needs. From relief for cancer-related fatigue to managing symptoms such as pain, lymphedema and the challenges of coping with cancer, we’ll help you at every turn.
Speech language pathologists treat cognitive concerns, such as "chemo brain" and they work alongside registered dietitians to help with loss of appetite, taste and difficulty swallowing or eating.
Throughout your care, we offer personalized resources, education and support. Our nurse navigators guide you and your family, from clinic appointments and hospital check-ins through treatments and follow-up care. We also offer a genetic-counseling liaison to assist you and a dedicated clinical trial research coordinator. You’ll learn about the latest innovations and treatment options for your unique condition.
A PORi Center of Excellence assures you of high-level industry standards for specialized oncology rehabilitation care. Our PORi certification assures you of trusted rehabilitation services and expertise for any type or phase of cancer, from treatment through survivorship.
Cardio-Oncology Rehabilitation
If cancer and cancer therapies cause cardiac toxicity symptoms, we’ll help protect the health of your heart. Safely increase your physical activity level, relieve symptoms such as shortness of breath and reduce cancer-related fatigue with our cardio-oncology rehabilitation (CORE) program.
A physical therapist with advanced training in oncology rehabilitation leads this 12-week program. We’ll customize your exercise program to match your current level of function while protecting your heart from added stress.
