Northland CAPS
North Kansas City Hospital partnered with the Northland school districts to become the premier healthcare partner with the Northland CAPS program. The CAPS program is designed to give hands-on experience to students who are interested in a career in healthcare.
School of Medical Laboratory Science
This 46-week clinical program allows students to complete their college senior year of instruction at the Hospital. The program acquaints students with instruments, procedures and clinical experiences found in a hospital laboratory as well as teaches them about disease processes and correlating them with lab results. Upon program completion, students are eligible to take the national registry exam to become certified Clinical/Medical Laboratory Scientists.
School-to-Career Programs
Our multifaceted program meets the varying needs of high school students who may be looking for a rewarding volunteer experience or who are aspiring physicians and healthcare professionals. This program provides a behind-the-scenes look at a full-service hospital.
Graduate Nurse Residency Program
For nurses at the start of their careers, North Kansas City Hospital offers an exceptional combination of individual guidance and professional training programs. Our Nurse Residency Program combines classroom and hands-on experience with feedback and support from Preceptors, Clinical Education Specialists and Nurse Directors.
Volunteer
Student volunteer opportunities are available for students (ages 16 and up) in various departments in the hospital including Pain Management, Cardiac Rehab, Central Services, Children’s Learning Center, Emergency Department, Nursing Units, Print Shop, Pharmacy and other areas.
