Treatment

Our speech-language pathologists are certified in VitalStim® therapy, a leading-edge treatment for swallowing disorders.

VitalStim® is an innovative treatment option therapy for people with swallowing disorders, or dysphagia. Painless, noninvasive electrical stimulation retrains the muscles responsible for swallowing.

Our VitalStim-certified therapists work one-on-one with you to develop a customized treatment plan. Often, your therapist will combine VitalStim therapy with other swallowing therapies for the best results.

Conditions We Treat

  • Stroke-related swallowing disorders
  • Neuromuscular conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS
  • Head and neck cancers treated with radiation and/or surgery
  • Deconditioning as a result of age or co-morbidity
