When your ability to communicate and use your voice is limited due to disease or injury, it can significantly impact your daily life and confidence.

If you're having speech difficulties, you should first see an ear, nose or throat doctor (otolaryngologist). Based on your diagnosis, this doctor can refer you to our outpatient speech-language therapy services.

Voice Therapy

Communication and voice disorders can be caused by a variety of issues, including overuse, reflux disease, age-related weakening of vocal folds, traumatic events, stroke or other brain injury, neurological diseases including multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease, or structural changes to the vocal folds.

Voice disorders may cause you to have decreased loudness or hoarseness, among other symptoms.
