The following list of community resources for women, families, and children is provided for informational purposes. This list may not cover all available resources, and we acknowledge that individual needs may vary.

These community resources have a senior focus, but other useful information, such as food pantries, 211, local transportation and financial services is listed. 

Breast pumps are often covered by private insurance benefits. For those without insurance coverage the following resources may be helpful.

The Head Start program is designed to invest in the early education and health of young children. This program receives funding through federal, state and private grants. The MARC Headstart KC website provides additional information about eligibility and how to get started.

Getting regular healthcare is vital for you and your baby’s health to make sure there are no problems. If you do not currently have healthcare coverage, you can apply for MO HealthNet for Pregnant Women, which is part of MO HealthNet (Missouri Medicaid), in one of the following ways:

Planned Parenthood is a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare and sexual education throughout the United States. Information for the local organization can be found on their website: Planned Parenthood | Official Site

The Missouri WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program provides supplemental food, health care referrals, nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion and support to eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five.
