Biography
When away from the office, Dr. Villanueva enjoys the outdoors, traveling and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Prior to entering medical school, Dr. Villanueva earned his bachelor of science degree in biomedical science from Texas A&M University. Dr. Villanueva was raised in Texas. He and his wife, Melanie, a hematology/oncology physician at Children’s Mercy Hospital, make their home in the Kansas City Northland.
Care Philosophy
Dr. Villanueva's approach is to provide preventive and evidence-based care for his patients, so they can have the best outcomes possible.
Area of Interest
In addition to preventive medicine, Dr. Villanueva has a special interest in chronic disease management such diabetes, heart and lung issues, as well as sports medicine, nutrition and weight management.
