Q. What is a virtual visit?

A. A virtual visit uses video to connect you with a healthcare provider.

Q. What technology do I need?

A. You’ll need a smartphone, tablet or desktop/laptop computer that has a camera, microphone and internet connection.

Q. Who can use virtual care?

A. Virtual care services are available to new and existing Meritas Health patients.

Q. Do I need to schedule a virtual care appointment?

A. No. You do not need to schedule an appointment. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q. What are the benefits of virtual care?

A. Virtual care provides a convenient, on-demand and secure option for medical care. The simple video format used for communication removes transportation, childcare and scheduling challenges that may arise with in-person medical appointments.

Q. Is virtual care covered by insurance?

A. Most insurance carriers cover virtual visits. If you are uninsured or if your insurance does not cover virtual care, the cost is $179 per visit. 

Q. Are your telemedicine services secure?

A. Yes. After months of vetting telemedicine platforms, we partnered with Doxy.me to ensure our patients have access to secure virtual care. Doxy.me meets worldwide security requirements and is HIPAA, GDPR, PHIPA/PIPEDA and HITECH compliant.
