These community resources have a senior focus, but other useful information, such as food pantries, 211, local transportation and financial services is listed.

Breast pumps are often covered by private insurance benefits. For those without insurance coverage the following resources may be helpful.

The Head Start program is designed to invest in the early education and health of young children. This program receives funding through federal, state and private grants. The MARC Headstart KC website provides additional information about eligibility and how to get started.

Individuals should check with their health insurance plan for a list of covered services and in network providers. Some providers may accept cash only and not bill health insurance. Additionally, select employers offer discounted or free short term counseling services through Employee Assistance programs (EAP), contact your employer Human Resources for information. Additional resources are available throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.

The Missouri WIC (Women, Infants and Children) program provides supplemental food, health care referrals, nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion and support to eligible pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and children up to age five.
