North Kansas City Hospital has been recognized as a 2013 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of healthcare organizations in the United States. The Joint Commission’s recognized North Kansas City Hospital for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.

TJC Top Performer

To be a 2013 Top Performer, NKCH had to meet three performance criteria based on 2013 accountability measure data. These included:

  • Achieving a cumulative performance rate of 95% or higher across all reported measures
  • Achieving a performance rate of 95% or higher on every reported measure with at least 30 denominator cases
  • Having at least one core measure set with a composite rate of 95% or higher; within that set, all applicable individual accountability measure had a performance rate of 95% or higher

The Joint Commission recognized North Kansas City Hospital in its 2014 annual report, “America’s Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety.”
