Greg and Patti with giftsThe new orientation program for NKCH and MH employees is making a lasting impact. Nearly a year ago, under the leadership and guidance of Vice President of Revenue Cycle Amy Crawford, MHSA, Senior Director of Patient Experience Patti Bradley, MSN, RN, WHNP-BC, and Director of Spiritual Care and Guest Services Greg Frohna began the development of an expanded customer service portion of the three-day new hire orientation program called Great Happens Here.

The entire curriculum covers our culture, benefits, compliance, security and much more. Greg, Patti and other speakers have presented the Service Happens Here component to over 250 new employees since this summer.

One group recently expressed appreciation for what they learned during the customer service instruction. The 45 new hires from the October 11 class presented Greg and Patti with cards and gifts.

Comments in the cards included words like: “Thank you for opening our eyes,” “I appreciate that you teach that we need to care for the staff, too,” “Thank you for bringing sunshine to our second day,” and “I think I got to the right place for work.”

Patti enjoys working with all new employees, but she said, “This group was especially engaged and positive. They were in their seats 30 minutes early before we started.” Greg added, “They had the posture of learning and asking questions.”

Greg and Patti appreciate the positive feedback, which shows the orientation program is making a difference. “We want to create a culture where they can do their best work and provide the best care and that means caring for our employees, too,” Greg explained.
