The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) has released its Digital Health Most Wired Survey results for 2023 and certified North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health Level 9 achievement for Acute Care and Ambulatory Care. CHIME surveyed more than 55,000 healthcare facilities and has recognized NKCH and MH as a Most Wired organization for over a decade.

“This is an honor for our entire health system,” said Kristen Guillaume, vice president and chief information officer. “It acknowledges our continued pursuit of digital transformation. Level 9 certification is a result of a systemwide commitment to deliver exceptional digital experiences for our patients in support of the tremendous care provided by our clinical team.”

The Digital Health Most Wired survey is a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-Up.” It assesses the adoption, integration and impact of information technologies in healthcare organizations. The Level 9-10 certification recognizes technology leaders that drive the industry forward. They leverage advanced technologies and innovation to improve patient outcomes and safety by reducing costs, providing broader patient access and improving quality of care.

NKCH and MH’s broader digital strategy helped it rank above peer health systems in several categories, including analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure and patient engagement.

“The Most Wired distinction reflects our culture of collaboration and innovation,” Guillaume said. "We deployed system-wide automation to enhance patient and employee satisfaction, as well as an expanded identity and access management strategy. We improved workflow automation for patients and staff, introduced capacity management efficiencies and made advancements in data and analytics. These changes impacted the entire health system and achieved our goal of producing clear, measurable improvements for every service line.”
