Thanks to North Kansas City Hospital and Meritas Health’s long-term commitment to upgrade its Cardiac Catheterization Lab, interventional cardiologists can now treat more patients more efficiently and with reduced radiation exposure.
Over the last 18 months, the hospital replaced its five Cath Labs with four larger suites, including a hybrid operating room.
The upgrade also gives patients greater access to lifesaving procedures, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement procedures and a new minimally invasive mitral valve repair to treat mitral regurgitation, the most common type of heart valve disease.
NKCH is the only hospital in the Northland providing this procedure.
