At the Philanthropy Kickoff Event Nov. 1 at the Cerner Experience Center, North Kansas City Hospital announced it received a $3 million legacy gift from the estate of Nancy Ruth Botham of Liberty, MO. This transformational gift is the largest in the organization’s 64-year history.
Nancy had a great appreciation for the care she received at NKCH and Meritas Health throughout her lifetime, including lifesaving neurosurgery. She made the gift in honor of the physicians, nurses and staff who cared for her through the years. It was her wish to “pay it forward” for future patients.
“We are incredibly grateful to Ms. Botham for this extraordinary gift, which will have an impact on Northland patients and families for generations to come,” said NKCH and MH Chief Development Officer Courtney Johanning.
