Improved continuity of care and reduced wait times for people arriving at NKCH by ambulance are behind a new Health Data Exchange between the hospital and Emergency Medical Services agencies. The effort provides secure sharing of patient health information as allowed by privacy laws. Having the information will help doctors and nurses more quickly assess a patient’s condition when they arrive in the emergency room.
