Biography
Dr. Shorten grew up in the Kansas City area. When not working, he enjoys mountain biking, hunting, fishing and other outdoor pursuits.
Area of Interest
Dr. Shorten is board certified in neurology and sleep medicine. He practices general neurology and has subspeciality training in the treatment of sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and restless legs syndrome. Dr. Shorten chose to specialize in sleep medicine due to the importance of sleep for general health optimization.

Dr. Shorten serves as clinical assistant professor in the neurology department at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.
