Samin Akhtar, M.D.

Biography

Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis and badminton, cooking a range of cuisines, and traveling to new destinations with my husband and son. I recently began trying my hand at baking, too.

Care Philosophy

I grew up in a family with many doctors, whom I greatly admired. Seeing how their careers were so rewarding inspired me to become a doctor. I am enormously fulfilled by how my patients put their trust in me, and I strive to understand how my patients are feeling through compassionate care.

Area of Interest

I enjoy the variety of internal medicine because I can care for patients with a range of conditions and diseases, including asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart failure, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, thyroid problems and various joint disease.
