Dawn C. Heizman, M.D., FACOG

Biography

Dr. Heizman joined Meritas Health Pavilion for Women in November 2013. She grew up in Mexico, Missouri, and then attended the six-year, combined B.A./M.D. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During medical school, Dr. Heizman was inducted into the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha and graduated summa cum laude in 2009. After achieving her medical degree, she stayed at her alma mater and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology. She received several awards during residency, including the Best PGY-2 Teaching Award, the Eugene W.J. Pearce Award and also acted as administrative chief during her last year. 

When away from the office, Dr. Heizman enjoys spending time with her two children and family, traveling and reading.

Area of Interest

Dr. Dawn Heizman enjoys all aspects of obstetrical care, as well as vaginal surgery and minimally invasive surgery, including robotics. Other areas of professional interest include contraceptive management, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, menopause and much more.

Dr. Heizman is board certified, an active member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Youngblood Society, Kansas City GYN Society, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the American Medical Association.
