About Me
Biography
I have many ties with North Kansas City Hospital. My wife Collin J. Lovitt, DO, is a physician with Meritas Health Hospitalists. During medical school, I did rotations with obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, radiology and psychiatry. My father-in-law was a longtime radiologist at North Kansas City Hospital.
My interests outside of work include spending time with my wife and four young children, playing tennis, running and cheering on the Kansas City Royals. We live in the Northland.
Care Philosophy
I enjoy being a part of my patients’ growing families and strive to treat my patients as if they are family members.
Area of Interest
As an obstetrician and gynecologist, I provide all aspects of healthcare for women of any age, with an emphasis on minimally invasive surgery, including robotics.
Teaching and Professional Positions
After earning my bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin and a master's degree in molecular physiology from The College of William and Mary, I worked for three different pharmaceutical/biotech companies (MPEX, Sunesis and Genentech) in San Diego and San Francisco over eight years, where I investigated antibiotics and therapies for cancer and Parkinson's disease.
During my residency, I was the primary resident researcher for "Evaluation of Parameters Surrounding Hospital Re-admission for Postpartum Preeclampsia: A Retrospective Analysis" and a contributing resident for "Composite Neonatal Morbidity With Sonographic Estimate of Fetal Weight < 5% vs. 5-9% for Gestational Age: A Retrospective Analysis."
