Care During Hospital Stays
Your primary care provider serves as your advocate and guide throughout your healthcare journey. If you’re in the hospital, you can rely on the partnership between Meritas Health Vivion and a hospital-based physician group to deliver the care you need 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Care for North Kansas City School Employees
Employees at North Kansas City (NKC) Schools and their families benefit from Meritas Health Vivion services, including:

Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Your Appointment
Let’s make the most of your visit. Before your first appointment, please have your referring physician forward your medical records. Try to arrive 30 minutes before your first appointment, so we can verify your information. For future visits, arrive 15 minutes early.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
To each visit, please bring:
- A current, complete list of your medications
- Any applicable copay or co-insurance amounts
- Your insurance card

Prescription Refills
There are a few ways you can request a prescription refill:
- At your appointment - Tell your doctor if you’ll need a refill before your next visit.
- From the patient portal - Log in to myhealth patient portal. Under My Medications, select Renew to request a refill.
- Through your pharmacy or mail-order service - Call your pharmacy or mail-order service for refills, and they will contact us for approval.
For any refills, be sure to request them several days before you run out of medication. We respond to refill requests during business hours, so it’s helpful to plan ahead.
After-Hours Calls & Emergencies
For urgent medical care after business hours, call 816.453.1314 to reach our on-call doctor. They can help with health questions and concerns. Note that we do not call in medication refills on evenings and weekends.
