North Kansas City Hospital earned Level II Stroke Center designation from the Missouri Time Critical Diagnosis System. This means we have the resources in place to deliver faster response times when you or someone you love is experiencing a stroke. A faster response improves patient outcomes and recovery.
The Stroke Center designation expands our critical care services, which include an accredited Chest Pain Center, Level I STEMI Center, Level II Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Virtual Stroke Care
Time is critical when a loved one is having a stroke. To speed up the diagnosis, we have telestroke specialists available 24/7. When a patient arrives in the Emergency Department or shows signs of a stroke while in the hospital, NKCH doctors don’t need to wait for the neurologist on call. They can video conference with a board-certified neurologist, who assesses the patient, views CT scans and helps make sure the patient receives the right care quickly.
