Colby A. Elder, M.D.

Biography

I grew up less than an hour north of Kansas City in the town Wathena, KS. I completed my surgical residency in Pennsylvania where I met my wife. Both of us and our daughter love Kansas City and are always looking for ways to be involved in the community and explore what the area has to offer.

Care Philosophy

Health care is an ever-growing field with new technologies increasingly being created, often giving patients multiple options to choose from. Every person is different and I believe an instrumental part of being a provider is to discuss the risks and benefits of each option with a patient centered focus. Then together come to a joint decision with each patient on what is best for them and how to best deliver that care.

Area of Interest

My interests include coronary revascularization, structural valve disease and valve replacement or repair, treatment of atrial fibrillation, as well as the treatment and cure of lung and mediastinal tumors. My mission is to perform the procedures in an effective and minimally invasive way to help people live longer, better lives.
