Job Shadow Form
Job Shadow is a one-day opportunity (some nursing shadows might allow for multiple days) for students ages 16 and older who have a general interest in a career in healthcare. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Applications for students interested in anesthesia assistant programs will not be accepted. We are only accepting shadow requests for physician assistants with permission.
Meritas Health Anesthesiology takes job shadow requests from:
- Applicants with a referral from NKCH/MH CRNAs or anesthesiologists
- NKCH/MH nurses interested in furthering their education as a CRNA
Radiology exclusively accepts shadows from college students who are currently enrolled in one of our partner schools:
- MU’s ultrasound program
- Washburn’s Radiation Therapy Program
- Avila’s Radiography, CT, and MRI programs
- MCCKC Radiology program
Requirements
Please be advised that proof of the following immunizations will be required prior to your job shadow experience:
- TB test (choose ONE of the below methods; blood draw or skin test)
- one blood draw QFT test - takes 2-3 days to get results (QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT) is a simple blood test)
- two skin tests, verified twice - takes two weeks to complete and get results
- TB test suggested locations: contact a local health department or your PCP
- MMR (immunity verified via lab tests or 2 doses of the vaccine)
- Influenza vaccination during flu season (October through March)
- Varicella (chicken pox) immunity verified via lab test or 2 doses of vaccine
- COVID - documentation required if you’ve been vaccinated. Vaccine not required.
You will be required to bring copies of your immunization records and get the TB tests prior to placement in a one-day job shadow.
