PGY-1


Program Structure

Each resident undergoes an Orientation and Training learning experience that focuses on operational functions, which are the backbone of pharmacy services.

Following the Orientation and Training learning experience, residents complete six required and three elective learning experiences. These experiences are flexible and based on each PGY-1 resident’s interests. Each learning experience lasts approximately five weeks, with the exception of required Ambulatory experience (four weeks) and NICU (three weeks).

  • Ambulatory - Population Health or Anticoagulation Clinic (1 of 2 required)
  • Antimicrobial Stewardship
  • Cardiac Intensive Care or Neurotrauma Intensive Care (1 of 2 required)
  • Internal Medicine- Cardiac/Neuro Progressive Care, Oncology, Orthopedic or Cardiac Progressive Care (2 of 4 required)
  • Neonatal Intensive Care

  • Hematology and Oncology
  • Internal Medicine - Renal & Dialysis

  • Residents may opt to repeat a required learning experience
