A cancer diagnosis is highly personal. Our team of nurse navigators guides people with breast, lung and colon cancer through their diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation with sensitivity, empathy and compassion.
What is a Nurse Navigator?
Nurse navigators are nurses specially trained and experienced in working with people with cancer. They understand the medical and personal challenges cancer adds to life, and they are here to help.
Nurse Navigator Services
Nurse navigators can provide:
- Education on cancer, treatment options and rehabilitation
- Early detection resources
- Help with quitting smoking
- Help with making appointments
- Access to clinical trials and other resources
- General support for patients and their families, including monthly support groups
If you are a cancer patient at North Kansas City Hospital and have not been assigned a nurse navigator, talk with your healthcare provider.
