A new Meritas Health Gashland Infusion Clinic, which opened Dec. 27, provides specialized therapy for asthma, dehydration, hyperlipidemia, migraines and osteoporosis. Additional therapies will be added in the coming months.

With support from Michael DiBernardo, MD, and Andrew Jurgensmeier, MD, both family medicine physicians at MH Gashland, the multidisciplinary effort brings Pharmacy, Nursing and MH Gashland together, so patients can receive treatment outside the NKCH Outpatient Treatment Center at the hospital Pavilion.

NKCH Pharmacy technicians provide full-time support with outreach to insurance companies to ensure prior authorization and determine which location best serves the needs of each patient. The new location is staffed by two oncology-certified nurses, a pharmacist and two Pharmacy technicians.
