Heart Attack Treatment
For the 10th consecutive year, NKCH received the ACC’s National Cardiovascular Data Registry® Chest Pain – MI RegistryTM Platinum Performance Achievement Award. To earn this award, NKCH demonstrated commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care for patients with heart attacks.
NKCH also sustained achievement in the Chest Pain – MI Registry for eight consecutive quarters and performed at the top level of standards for specific performance measures. Full participation in the registry engages hospitals in a robust quality improvement process using data to drive improvements in adherence to guideline recommendations and overall quality of care provided to heart attack patients.
Four-Star CMS Rating
NKCH earned a four-star rating from the CMS rating system. The program, which was developed as a tool for consumers to make informed decisions about where they receive care, calculates Hospital Quality Star Ratings based on a number of measures. The measures, which average 37, are across five categories:
- Mortality
- Patient Experience
- Readmission
- Safety of Care
- Timely and Effective Care
