U.S. News & World Report and the Gladstone Dispatch and Courier Tribune recently recognized North Kansas City Hospital and some of its physicians.

U.S. News & World Report recognized North Kansas City Hospital as the third Best Hospital in the metro area. NKCH tied for fourth Best Hospital in Missouri.

“We are honored North Kansas City Hospital is recognized locally and across the state for the high-quality care we provide,” said Stephen L. Reintjes Sr., MD, president and CEO.

The hospital also received High Performing ratings in the following adult procedures and conditions: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Aortic Valve Surgery, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Colon Cancer Surgery, Heart Bypass Surgery, Heart Failure, Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement.

In this year’s Best Hospitals list, U.S. News & World Report assessed 4,554 hospitals nationwide. Only 603 of the hospitals assessed were recognized. NKCH was recognized at both the state and metro-area levels.

To earn a coveted U.S. News Best Hospitals badge and/or Best Regional Hospitals badge, hospitals must earn a Top 50 ranking in a medical specialty or High Performing ratings in a minimum of three procedures and/or conditions. Overall, NKCH ranked High Performing in eight procedures and conditions.
