Expanding life-saving care for the Northland

Interventional Radiology (IR) uses medical imaging to guide minimally invasive procedures that help diagnose diseases earlier, monitor treatments more effectively and deliver therapries with greater precision. IR reduces recovery time, pain, and risk to patients who would otherwise need traditional open surgery and is the best way to treat many types of conditions related to cancer, gastrointestinal issues, vascular interventions, pain management and more.

IR at NKCH collaborates with nearly every department in the health system, performing more than 4,800 procedures each year, many of them urgent. With procedures doubling in the last 24 months and with increasing referrals, we need to expand the program to meet the needs of our patients and save more lives.
